In 2014 we joined the Squiver group for a photo trip in Japan. Highlights of the tour were the snow monkeys in Nagano (Jigokudani Monkey Park) and the red-crowned cranes, the whooper swans and the stellar eagles on the island of Hokkaido.
We loved staying in the traditional ryokan in the Monkey Park. Seeing the monkeys was really nice, especially with the fresh snow the first day. The cranes were so elegant and we very much enjoyed trying to shoot the eagles from the boat. Our favourites however were the whooper swans – a beautiful lake and such graceful birds. Food was super yummy, we simply loved the ramen 🙂
